Math is a creative, active process where children gather, discover, create or express facts and ideas about patterns. Most of what young children learn about math is from play and daily activities.
For example, when children set the table for a snack, they are matching one to one; when they play with the blocks, they are experimenting with different shapes; when they remind you that the big hand is on the twelve and it's time to go outside, they are telling time; when they sing about "Five Little Monkeys", they are counting.
At The Little School children are introduced to one to one correspondences, patterns, sorting and sets, counting, number recognition, shapes, - diverse math manipulatives, comparisons, measurement, and skills that serve as a foundation for the development of strong math skills.
